Our story

Why I created
Meilė Tau

It all started with a simple question: what kind of gift for my husband could, without asking any effort from him, quietly remind him every day: “I’m thinking of you”?

Real stories begin with a few heartfelt words. ♡

Gift groups and psychology groups were only the beginning. Reels with polls kept showing how much we expect from each other. It made me wonder how often I actually notice what I receive every day.

After following these groups and videos for a long time, I began to look more closely at my husband’s role in our life. It isn’t easy, because we can’t feel what someone else feels; we only feel ourselves. That’s why, as clichéd as it may sound, words are our best helpers. Sometimes a single simple sentence is enough to let someone you love know they’ve been noticed.

Small moments of care

The care
you don’t hear

For a long time, I didn’t notice how much my husband does for me – quietly, never asking for anything in return.

  • I rarely stopped to think that a car repair costs not only money, but also energy and nerves.

  • When we’re together, I can let myself relax, forget about work plans and responsibilities, and simply clear my head. Meanwhile, he stays alert: he spots an oncoming car, reaches out a hand when I trip, and shows me which way to turn without saying a word.

  • He would rather treat me than himself. The bigger piece of dessert always ends up on my plate. When I’m cold, he gives me his jacket, and when it rains, he shields me while he gets soaked himself.

  • When I catch a cold, I get not just medicine, but attention, care and all the little things that bring comfort.

  • Whenever he’s at the grocery store, he calls me, not to ask what we need or what he might have forgotten, but what I’d like just for myself. Even when I say I don’t need anything, he still brings home something I love most, because he knows my taste.

The list could go on. Each partner’s contribution matters, yet in the rush of everyday life we rarely notice it. When we’re tired, we mostly see our own efforts, because those are the ones we feel.

Your actions.
My gratitude. ♡

What I believe

I believe a few heartfelt words can change an entire day.

The words we say to each other stay longer than we think

From idea to reality

From notes in a jar
to a phone screen

A few words,
a brighter day. ♡

I spent a long time refining this gift for my husband. I wanted it to remind him, again and again, that I’m thinking of him and that I appreciate everything he does for us.

Early in our relationship, I gave him a jar filled with notes listing the reasons I love him. I wanted to create something similar, but without any extra effort on his part: no opening a jar, unfolding slips of paper, reading them and putting them back.

Meilė Tau asks nothing of him. Every day, he receives a note in my own words, drawn from our life together. The widget keeps it on his home screen every time he unlocks his phone, so it stays with him far longer than a notification that’s swiped away in a second.

A note can also reach him in the moment. If we suddenly decide to have a romantic evening, I write a note just for that. If I know I’ll be late at work, I send a small apology with a promise to make up for the lost time.

It’s never too late

It’s never too late to show your feelings and empathy. I created this app for my husband, but I’m sharing it with everyone. Just choose whether you’re the one who gives attention and love through words, or the one who receives them. ♡

With love, from one couple to another

One of you writes the notes. The other finds a new one on their home screen every day. That’s the whole idea.
